We also used A-1 and were pleased with the results. Troy was very pleasant to deal with and they are flat roof experts.
Best Regards

Same experience here with A-1. Several of my neighbors did their roofs after we did ours and all seem to be pleased. Talk to Troy, the owner.

A-1 is the best.
They are the ones who did ours. ask for "Troy" they do around 200 flat roofs a year.
Most companies only do 2 or 3.
And you can buy a lifetime warranty!!

I don't know who to tell you to use - but I know who you need to avoid.
Interstate Roofing was absolutely the worst contractor we have ever worked with. They took six months to get it right, replaced two roofs and we finally had to take them to the Oregon Construction Contractors Board and file suit. There was a negotiated settlement. It was a terrible experience. Part of the settlement was to withdraw our complaint with BBB and our negative review on Angieslist.
Interstate Roof is the worst of the worst.

CC
We just had our roof done this summer; heavy shakes on the pitched section and a membrane on the flat. We used Mike Briggs (971) 645-0278 who was referred by our neighbor, a property manager. Our neighbor uses Mike for his commercial projects and his own mother's house. (figured that's a good reference)
Frankly, he did a great job, including many extras like installing new kitchen and bath exhaust fans, building custom boxes (on the roof) for the fans, replaced tongue and grove planks as needed, new fascia boards as needed, etc...
I did not have to supervise his crew at all... they just did what was needed (which is what I wanted him to do) and the upcharge for changes and unexpected extra materials (like the new T&G planks) was very reasonable. We're at 2720 NW Forest in Oak Hills if you want to drive by and have a look. One last thing... per my request, he replaced the downspouts with a system that can be cleaned out at ground level. No more climbing up on the flat roof to clean out the leaves!!! It's simple once you see it, but hard to explain. Once again, stop by if you're curious or I can send photos by request.

We used Bob Carlson, Inc. when we did our roof back in 1993. They did an outstanding job. Our next door neighbors have recently used the same company, and as far I know, they were also pleased.

We had our roof taken from hot-mop to membrane this summer with Western Pacific Roofing at 503-659-7663
(http://www.westpacroofing.com/?gclid=CKzw28qazZcCFRIcawodOQU6bw),
and we would recommend them. They replaced a LOT of dryrot areas in the tongue-and-groove wood of the overhangs, installed a new skylight over the living room (NO MORE CAVE!), added 6" new rigid insulation over the living quarters, gave us new, over-size downspout holes, and coordinated with the air conditioner crews in replacing all of the ductwork for our central air conditioner. I would advise anyone getting a new roof (especially membrane) to expect a shake-out period for incompletely sealed seams to show up. That said, for the 2 "discoveries" we had once the rains started, Western Pacific had someone out to solve the problem immediately.

Hope this helps,
Stan
